Latitude Nature is a small "artisanal" structure, located in the Tarn, close to Albi,  in the South of France. 
We make high quality hand-poured candles.Our work ethic is to use high quality products that respect people and the environment.

Respect of the environment is a very important topic for me, having 15 years at sea, travelling worldwide and seeing both the beauty of our planet but also how we are destroying it. This pushed me to undertake a B.Sc. in Environmental sciences that I finished in 2005.

We have always been candle lovers, but recent information on the dangers of paraffin candles made us look for other alternatives.
In France, natural candles other than beeswax candles were hard to find.
After much research, we discovered the new vegetable waxes that had been developped in the 1990s but hadn't yet arrived here.
These waxes are sustainable and environmentally friendly and very well adapted to aromatherapy and scented candles as their burn temperature is low creating better and faster scent throw.
So after several months of research and apprenticeship we decided to start up our candle business  from our farmhouse in the Tarn.
We have opted for soya wax and rapeseed wax, rather than palm oil wax, the most widely-used natural wax for candles: even if some of the palm oil wax is organic, we did not want to take part in the ecological disaster taking place in south east Asia and other areas due to deforestation to make place for palm plantations!
